Unknown future

This story is in response to :

Kira’s Sunday Scribbles

Writing Every Week – #Week 3

She wanted to escape,

she had been through a lot.

Fake people,

faking emotions and feelings.

People whom she loved dearly,

people whom she called her family,

people whom she called friends,

people with familiar faces,

people who were her own yet complete strangers.

She wanted to escape the lies,

the cheats,

the manipulators,

the gold diggers.

She went looking for support and she got stabbed,

she went looking for love and she got stabbed,

she went looking for happiness and she got stabbed.

They stabbed her without mercy,

walked over her soft heart,

filled her mind with trauma

and left her alone to suffer.

But she picked her pieces up.

Now she is stable.

She left behind her previous life, her previous world.

She set sail in her hearts little ship built of hope.

She hopes to live a stable life.

She hopes for a better future.

She reached the shores of an unknown future.

The wise owl hooting on the shores symbolised good luck for her.

A new beginning. A new life.

  1. “There is hope for a wounded dog than a dead lion.”

I’m excited she didn’t allow her throes of agony dictate her view of life.

Hope is a powerful virtue required in every sphere of life.

Thanks for sharing. This piece is beautifully written.
